Saturday February 8th at 5 pm, we have all of our chilis in a row. Come on down to the community center in Twisp and enjoy a chili contest with your friends and neighbors. For just 8 dollars you can sample chili from the best chefs in the valley and enjoy a bowl of last years first prize winner. No host bar and entertainment from the Hoodoo Marimba Band.

The Methow Valley Community Center is a place for arts, education and well-being for the people of the Methow Valley and preserves the historical essence of the Twisp School.
Located on Highway 20 in the town of Twisp, Washington, the MVCC is at the hub of Methow Valley and the welcome center for visitors exploring the Methow Valley. Housed in the former Twisp School building built in 1912, the MVCC celebrated its 100 years of service to our community and is actively planning for another century of service.

BEAT THE CHILL ~ CHILI COOK-OFF RULES & ENTRY FORM
1.Your competition chili must be prepared and ready to eat when you arrive at the
community center gym at 2:30-3:00 on Saturday February 8th, 2014.
2. You may bring all garnishes that are normally served with your chili.
3. Each contestant must prepare a minimum of 8 quarts of competition chili
(enough to fill an average crock pot twice).
4. Each contestant is responsible for an ingredient list and helping to set up the
area at the beginning and tidying up at the end of the day
5. You are responsible for providing a crock pot for serving the chili.
6. The decision of the judges is final. Judging will be based on score cards which
7. Each contestant will be assigned a “contestants number” by the Chief Scorekeeper
and be given a container for the remaining chili. These both will be numbered
at the same time as their chili is collected for the official judging. Each contestant
should verify that the number on the bottom of their container is the same
as their contestants’ number assigned to them by the Chief Scorekeeper.
8. In this competition the chili will be blind judged (no one knows the identity of
the cook) and scorecards will be based on the following six characteristics:
